Ophthalmic ketorolac has been approved as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to be used for itchy eyes due to allergies, swelling and inflammation occurring after cataract surgery.. Zerviate, the cetirizine ophthalmic solution, 0.24% (formerly AC-170), is a novel formulation of cetirizine which has been approved in May 2017 by FDA. Zerviate works on the histamine receptor sites to reduce swelling, itching and vasodilation. Xiidra (lifitegrast ophthalmic solution) 5% is used for the treating dry eye disease (DED). Omidria is a phenylephrine and ketorolac injection (1% / 0.3%) which is being used in irrigation solution before intraocular use. It is being applied to maintain size of the pupil to stop intraoperative miosis and to reduce postoperative ocular pains. Eylea is medication used as an injection into the eye to treat certain diseases of the retina like macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
